How VidScore builds rankings and verdicts

VidScore is designed to answer a practical question: which AI video model is actually the better choice once price, quality, and workflow fit are measured on the same page.

Ranking inputs

Rankings are not driven by a single number. We combine benchmark evidence, verified comparable pricing, and workflow-level fit so the page reflects what a buyer would actually care about.

Quality benchmarks

We use shared public benchmark tracks where they exist so models are compared on a common quality signal instead of isolated marketing demos.

Verified comparable pricing

Default rankings use the cheapest text-to-video offer we can verify from a MEDIUM or HIGH trust provider at a genuinely comparable tier.

Capability fit

Audio support, clip length, resolution ceilings, multi-shot tools, and workflow-specific strengths shape our verdicts and best-for recommendations.

Evidence freshness

Pages move when provider pricing, availability, or public benchmark evidence changes. Thin or stale evidence lowers confidence.

Provider trust tiers

Published pricing is not equally reliable. We assign trust tiers so readers can see which offers are safe to compare directly and which ones are only contextual.

Trust tier

HIGH

First-party pricing or highly consistent provider documentation with current verification.

Trust tier

MEDIUM

Third-party provider pricing that is directly usable and recently rechecked against public product behavior.

Trust tier

LOW-MEDIUM

Signals that are directionally useful but incomplete, stale, or missing a clean comparable tier.

Trust tier

LOW

Teaser pricing, inconsistent claims, or promotional material that we show as context but exclude from default rankings.

Update cadence

The goal is current guidance, not the fastest possible publish speed. We update when numbers move and when public benchmark evidence changes enough to affect a real decision.

Leaderboard and core pricing pages are reviewed weekly.
Major launches or provider changes are usually reflected within 24 to 48 hours.
When evidence conflicts, we prefer a slower update over publishing an unverified number as canonical.

What this means in practice

When VidScore says one model is cheaper or a better default, that claim is scoped to a comparable workflow. We deliberately separate verified usable rates from teaser floors and disclosed uncertainty instead of flattening everything into one headline number.
